Compendia Invited to Speak at BIS '08
Addressing "Green" Issues: "Implications of the Green Mega-Trend and its Impact on Your Business."

August 1, 2008 (SAN DIEGO, CA) – Compendia's CEO Steve Fabry will lead a panel of experts addressing issues regarding the transformation of a builders' business to incorporate environmentally-responsible best practices at this year's Building Industry Show (BIS) in Long Beach, CA.

Fabry, joined by Brian Gitt, CEO/Executive Director of Build It Green, Mark Johnson, Green Project Director for leading green builder Gerding Edlen and Tim Corbett, President of SmartRisk will be featured at the annual conference on November 13, 2008 to present "Implications of the Green Mega-Trend and its Impact on Your Business."

"It's no longer a niche market. Environmentally-responsible building is the next paradigm shift that will define the industry," Fabry, the forum's moderator and co-presenter, said.

The program explores the effects of rapid rise of the green residential and commercial market and shares best practices that can position a builder for future success. The panel will guide builders and developers towards a clearer understanding of the opportunities and potential pitfalls of green building including certification, implementation, risk management and communication.

The 90-minute presentation will cover the four major business elements of “going green." Certification addresses the necessary requirements of what distinguishes a green-registered home and its market benefits. Implementation delves into the true costs and processes of designing, developing and building a sustainable green building project. Risk management addresses the new potential for increased risk and liability builder may incur. Communication deals with the best practices and of delivering key education, maintenance, warranty and other integrity-critical information to the homeowner.

Each of the panelists was chosen for their expertise in their field. Their considerable depth of experience will benefit attendees and contribute to their faster transition and response to the greening demands within the current and future market.

BIS(November 13-14) is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary as the largest Southern California B2B trade show for residential builders, contractors, engineers and architects. This year's conference is at the Long Beach Convention Center.
