compendia
passes the 5 million mark
Proprietary vetting
process verifies manufactured products in each
home
October 11,
2009 (San Diego, CA) –
Part
of the unique turnkey service Compendia offers
to builders is its ability to verify and validate
the various manufactured product components
in each house. Since beginning this proprietary
"audit" service in 2003, Compendia
recently eclipsed the five million product mark.
"It's
a remarkable achievement," said Compendia
CEO Steve Fabry. "When you consider how
many homes that covers and all the legwork required
to collect and accurately process all the information
from builders, manufacturers, suppliers and
installers."
As
a component of the homeowner and homeowner association
maintenance manuals Compendia provides, the
collection and publishing of the manufactured
products fulfill the various warranty-related
laws builders must follow.
Beyond
the collection of warranty detail, operating
instructions and maintenance requirements, according
to Fabry, Compendia provides the only available
maintenance content that is specific to each
climate and building type. "The maintenance
requirements for a SFD home in Fresno are very
different from those of a high-rise in Seattle;
and from a mid-rise in Florida or New York.
Knowing the differences and incorporating them,
while avoiding implied warranties, is both art
and science."
"We
help builders create a liability buffer that
keeps them in compliance with state and federal
laws and we help manufacturers identify and
verify which homes and communities are using
their products," Fabry said.
Compendia
states there are 30-60 unique manufactured products
installed in each home depending on building
type. They include appliances, exterior and
interior lighting, climate control, cabinets
and countertops, electrical systems, irrigation
systems, faucets, tubs and toilets, doors, flooring,
roofing, hearths, security systems and many
other components.
